Invitation to opening reception Friday 17 November 2006, 6pm - 9pm

Outsider - exhibition of artists moving image, Princess Pavilion Gardens, Falmouth,
TR11 4AR, Cornwall. Free entry.

The exhibition has been developed by artist curator Steven Paige, working closely with Cornwall Film Festival and the selected artists. The work will be presented in outdoor spaces within the Princess Pavilion Gardens and includes new pieces by four Cornwall based artists. The show explores how artists’ use of video exists next to and ‘outside’ of mainstream narrative film; situated outdoors, yet operating symbiotically within the main festival, the physical presentation reflects the reality of practice in moving image.

Artists presenting new work are Clare Bridgeman, Brendan Byrne, Amanda Lorens, Paul Ridout and Simon Jaques showing through the In-Transit programme. Alongside, Paul Carter & Alexandra Zierle, Mary Fletcher, Gillian Holt and Alban Roinard were chosen from the artists’ submissions for the film festival.

A debate examining issues surrounding artists’ use of moving image will take place on Saturday 18 November from 12 to 1.30pm in Seminar Room B next to the Library at University College Falmouth, Woodlane, Falmouth, TR11 4RH.
